What is an Antiquark?
A quark is a
member of the fermion group of particles. It was thought until relatively
recently that these particles were indivisible and therefore the fundamental
building blocks of the universe. Of course now that honour is normally given to
strings.
An antiquark
can be found briefly (up to about 10 nanoseconds) with a quark in a pair that
makes a meson (another sub-atomic particle).
